Rotorua is a unique destination, located in the North Island of New Zealand. The area boasts a wide range of thermal attractions. Rotorua is about three hours drive South of Auckland, the country's largest city and one hours drive north of Taupo.
Whether you are visiting Wai-o-tapu to watch the Lady Knox Geyser "do her bit" or venturing out to Waimangu Volcanic Valley to get close to soem thernal activity good walking shoes and your camera are essential.

What’s included when I buy my pass?
Coach transport and services of your Driver Guide including commentary. Entry to the parks may be included in your pass price depending on the package purchased.
Will there be a seat for me?
If you have a confirmed booking then yes. You can book right up the time we depart Tourism Rotorua. In peak seasons it pays to plan a little bit ahead because it is busy.
Can I change my departure dates?
You can change your departure dates if you provide 24 hours notice. To change your departure date just contact the Travel HeadFirst office by phoning (03) 477 9083, faxing (03) 477 9009 or emailing bookings@travelheadfirst.com
What should I bring?
Water, credit card, walking shoes, camera and small back pack - great for carrying all of the above.
Make sure you have seasonal clothing and dress for the weather. In summer it is recommended that sun screen and hats are worn and drinking water carried.
When it looks like rain bring a rain coat or umbrella.
We do not recommend you bring valuables ( jewellery, passport etc )
What age limits are there?
All of our Geyser Link Shuttles services are suitable for all ages.
Guidelines for Wai-o-tapu
Be aware that the Lady Knox Geyser erupts just once a day at 10.15 am
It is a short drive from the Lady Knox Geyser to the Visitor Centre, walking to the geyser from the Visitor Centre is not recommended for safety reasons
Being an active volcanic area with undulating terrain, good footwear is recommended, it is not a good idea to wear jandals etc
There are no toilet facilities in the main park, excellent toilet facilities are available at the Visitor Centre
There are plenty of photo opportunities so it is a good idea to ensure that you have fully charged equipment and plenty of memory card
Lockers are available for use, a NZ $2.00 coin is required
The guide map provided with the ticket contains a lot of information about the features within the park. There are currently translations available in German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese and Korean
